More accomplished....

The 2nd level is showing some progress on the house.  As you can see above, the exterior walls are up now, with the exception of the garage.  That room sticking out above the 1st floor is Riley's room.

This is the view from our bedroom... pretty much the same view as family room.  Exact window set up.  It's very nice... I like it.

This is the beginnings of my hallway from my bedroom to the closet and bathroom.

This view above shows the inside looking out of where Riley's room is at.  The boards on the ground show where they will start the walls tomorrow.  The little room is a bathroom - jack and jill one in between the kids rooms.

This is the garage... it will be the bonus room... eventually.

This is Tyler's room... his window anyway.

Riley's room again.

This is the upstairs hallway, that's the window above the porch.

Full view of where it stands today.  It's pretty cold out, so the guys seem to work faster... lol.  Once again, Jim says they will have the walls up this week on the 2nd floor.  Next week they hope to get the roof up, maybe even shingle.  The week after Thansgiving will be brick, as long as the weather is good.  Our homework this weekend is to pick where all the outlets and switches go in the house, as well as all the lights. That sounds easy, but it seems like a big job.

2nd Level? Ding! Going up.

I haven't been feeling well this week, so I'm not as witty and fun as I normally am.  Ok, perhaps I'm being sarcastic by saying that, which makes me witty... so there ya go... the cough can't steal my awesomeness.

Anywhooo.. the house.  Two days went by with nothing being done because of rain.  It hurt, but finally.. back at it.  The garage has walls now and you can see the roof starting to form.

Here's our garage, you can't really tell... but its a lot bigger than I thought it would turn out.  Phew.

The second floor joists are going on.

Inside looking out in the garage.

The second floor goes out over the first floor over the office, which is Riley's room.  This is where they are getting ready for that.  It was supposed to be a bay window below, but we nixed it due to cash... not enough of it, that is.  =)

So, very exciting!  Jim said they will work Friday-Sunday to try and catch up.  Again, I don't want to sound pessimistic, but he hasn't really worked a weekend yet.  I'm hoping this time it's true!

Now I'm starting to see it.

More walls up!  I am starting to be able to visualize a lot better!!

This is the fireplace, this is the only first floor wall not up yet:

Back door wall and kitchen window:

This is my view while I do dishes... it's above the sink in the kitchen.  =)  :

Front of the house looking out - on the right is the office windows and then the hole for the door.  That middle square marked out with the 2 x 4's is the dining room.

This is the window looking out of the dining room (to the neighbors house... we'll fix that with some planted flowers or something).

My view from my living room... I love it!!

Apparently there was an issue with the cement block on the left side of the garage....

I'm hoping they keep it up!!!

"Don't worry"

Every time Jim sees me, he tells me "don't worry!" at least 5 times.  Do I look worried?  Don't answer that.  Clearly, I do.

Snows coming, it's crunch time.  I'm freaking out that this house won't be bricked before freezing temps.  I don't want work to stop over the winter.  Can you imagine my insanity?  Yes, yes you can.

Today, I went by to encourage everyone and give them my best "you need to get this house done faster" stink eye.  Although I'm pretty sure I just waved and said good morning in my high voice with a smile.  Not sure they got what I was thinking.

This was this morning... the cement block was in around the garage so they can start building the walls for it too.

The  neighbor came over and was chit chatting... pointed out that
I was "at least 3 months behind, aren't ya?".  Yes, thank you.

I was about to leave and Jim asks if I can drive the title company to check on our recent draw.  He's called them and didn't hear back.  Funny thing, we found out later in the day after some calls.... they closed up shop last night.  That's right.  Luckily, another title company bought them up so our money is somewhere, we're just figuring out how to get it.  I'm trying to find the humor in that... again, Jim told me when I arrived at the end of the day "don't worry!".  We'll figure it out.  As soon as I saw a wall up, I felt better.  Progress.  He says the first floor will be done tomorrow.  I'm praying that happens!

This is the wall that goes from in the garage to the house:

Down to the basement:

I love the high ceilings in the basment.

The first floor, everything's ready to be put up tomorrow.

This is the form for the back wall of our living room, the windows are a lot bigger than I pictured in my head. I think it's going to look awesome.

So there we go then... tomorrow I'll see if that first floor gets up.  Then I can go sit in the middle of the floor and try to visualize.  It'll be more of a reality with walls!

Until then... I'm going to try to use Jim's mantra to me... "Don't worry!!"
